Trip Volume by Time Period
Average trips per hour within each standard travel-model time period (Early AM, AM Peak, Midday, PM Peak, Evening), from the ABM trip list (depart_period). Periods span different lengths (Midday is 6 hours, PM Peak is 4), so rate - not raw period total - is what's comparable.
Note: School bus trips are included in these totals. School bus departures are tightly concentrated around 7 AM (school bell times), which adds a sharp spike that skews the region's daily peak toward the AM period rather than the PM period.
Note: Truck and commercial vehicle volumes are not computed by hour in this ABM - the network model only outputs them as daily totals - so they are not included in these totals.

Derived from the ABM trip list by collapsing carpool rows sharing the same household, tour, time, and origin/destination back to one vehicle. Transit and school bus vehicle counts aren't in this data, so this view is Auto only (drive-alone, carpool, and TNC).
